KDP is proud of the positive impact we make in the communities where we live, work and play, and our corporate responsibility efforts are amplified through community investments that make a meaningful difference. Our Let’s Play initiative, supported by nonprofit partners KABOOM! and Good Sports, provides active play opportunities across North America. Since 2011, we’ve committed nearly $40 million in funding to build or improve playgrounds, award playground construction grants and provide sports equipment to youth-serving organizations.
KDP supports families and communities in need, as well as causes in our hometowns across North America. We aim to ensure that, when disaster strikes, we are leveraging our resources to help in recovery and rebuilding opportunities. From hurricanes and tornadoes to floods and wildfires, KDP provided nearly 300,000 beverages to disaster-stricken communities in 2020. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, we launched our Fueling the Frontline program to support the frontline. To date, we’ve donated 4 million beverages across 43 states and provinces, outfitting more than 3,700 breakrooms in 500 hospitals with coffee stations to help healthcare heroes stay energized and hydrated. Charitable Employee Engagement
We provide our employees with opportunities to support the organizations they love. Our Dollars for Doers program encourages employees to volunteer by providing KDP-funded grants for their nonprofits of choice. Employees can earn a $100 grant for every 10 hours volunteered, up to 30 hours per year. The grant doubles if the employee serves on the Board of the organization receiving the grant. Additionally, our annual Engage for Good match campaign provides a 2:1 match on financial donations made by employees to organizations that align with our key focus areas of health and well-being, environment and disaster relief, as well as racial and social equality, and a 1:1 match on all other donations. In 2020, we supported more than 600 nonprofits through the campaign. We also provide our non-union employees in the U.S. and Canada with a paid day off to volunteer with nonprofit organizations, further broadening our reach in the communities in which we live and operate.
